All About Our Adoption Process

How do I get started?

The first step is filling out an online application. We encourage you to ask any additional questions you may have here. All applications will be responded to within 48 hours.

Our puppies are $3,500 and require a $500 non-refundable deposit which will be applied to the total purchase price. Full payments are due upon pickup when the puppies are 8 weeks old.

After you submit your application, we will contact you to discuss which litter you are interested in. Once we know which litter is best for you, you can submit your $500 deposit to reserve your spot.

We are based in the Portland Oregon metro area, but are happy to arrange delivery or pickup to surrounding areas, or to different states. Please reach out to us for more information for out of state delivery options.

Once the litter is born, we will send birth announcements. Then for the next 8 weeks as we learn  about their individual personalities, we will send weekly photo updates capturing the puppies development. Follow along with us on social media for even more puppy fun!

What's life like before coming home?

We believe that emotionally conditioning pups is key for their success later in life. Utilizing the Puppy Culture program, biosensor methods, and early crate training are some methods we use to raise pups that are conditioned for life with their forever family.

How are puppy allocations made?

When the puppies are 7 weeks old, we will conduct individual temperament testing on the pups to learn more about their personalities. Energy levels may vary as your pup grows, and individual personality traits that start to show at this age will be impacted by their home environment after you pick them up. When conducting our temperament testing, we are studying the following areas:

  • Sound Sensitivity  - Measuring sensitivity to loud noises
  • Sight Sensitivity - Measuring their response to new objects that may appear "scary"
  • Touch Sensitivity - Measuring their sensitivity to unexpected touch
  • Social Attraction - Measuring their social attraction to people and confidence levels, this is one of the key indicators for easy or difficult training
  • Social Dominance - Measuring acceptance of social dominance by another person
  • Elevation - measuring acceptance of being in a position with no control, situations like being at the vet
  • Following - Measuring their willingness to follow a person, this is another indicator to identify what kind of training is best for your pup
  • Retrieving - Measuring their willingness to do something for you, this is another indicator for determining the best way to train your pup
  • Stability - Measuring their startle responses to a strange object
  • Restraint - Measuring their dominant or submissive tendency, this shows their level of ease when handling difficult situations

Puppy allocations will be made after temperament testing has been completed so you can learn more about your pup's personality before making your decision. Allocations will be made on a first come, first serve basis based on our reservation list.

What can I expect when I pick up my pup?

We send our pups home with the following items to transition them for life in their new home:

  • Two pound bag of their current food
  • Blanket with the scent of their Mama and litter mates
  • New collar
  • Metal comb
  • Doggie poop bags
  • Two toys
  • Teething toy
  • Microchip
  • Copies of all health records

After coming home

We make all of our decisions based on the health and well being of our pups. Extensive health testing and disease screening of our parents are done prior to breeding. Our puppies are guaranteed free from congenital or genetic defects up to the age of two years. Any claim of a defect must be proven to be genetic in origin, life altering, and/or causing pain and suffering to the pup. Owners are expected to contact us at the first sign of any major health problems that are potentially genetic in origin.

After taking your pup home, we highly encourage continuing the crate training that has been started with your pup. Crate training helps pups to self soothe and manage their anxiety by providing a safe space, this helps create more secure adult dogs.

All of our adopted puppies will leave with a signed agreement to spay or neuter your pet when they have reached 6-8 months of age. We require all families to verify this service has been completed by submitting documentation from a licensed veterinarian to us before the deadline on the contract.

Should you for any reason, or at any point, find yourself unable to care for your puppy, we require that you return the dog to us before rehoming them. We will not charge their new family an adoption fee; however, we want to screen and evaluate any families that our pups end up with at any stage of their life.

We make all of our decisions with the best interest of our pups in mind; in the event that we at any point become uncomfortable with the "fit" of the adoption,  we reserve the right to refuse the sale of the puppy at pick up or time of delivery. In addition, if we at any point in the dog's life receive evidence of neglect or mistreatment, we reserve the right to remove the dog from your care permanently and no refund will be issued.
